Back in 2016, the Jersey actor revealed he was rejected in as many as 100 auditions during his early days in Bollywood. In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Shahid Kapoor shared, “Everyone thinks that he is Pankaj Kapur’s son, so isko toh break mil gaya hoga (He must have got a break). But I have been rejected from 100 auditions. Sometimes, I didn’t have money to eat food or to even go to the auditions. I have lived that life, and I don’t like talking about it. But that is my reality.”
Shahid Kapoor made his Bollywood debut in 2003 with Ishq Vishk, a sleeper hit at the box office. He’s completed over two decades in Bollywood, and it’s been one hell of a successful journey!
Shahid Kapoor’s Salary Per Film
He reportedly charges a sum of 10 crores per film, but the paycheck has surged by a huge margin in recent years. For Kabir Singh, Kapoor charged a remuneration of a whopping 30 crores. After the blockbuster success of the romantic drama, his fee was hiked by another 5 crores. He was paid a sum of 31 crores for Jersey, which increased by 29% to a whopping 40 crores for Bloody Daddy.
Shahid Kapoor’s Annual Salary
As per a report by Money Mint, Shahid takes home a monthly income of 1.8-2 crores. His annual salary is somewhere around 22-25 crores.
Apart from acting, Shahid makes a lot of money through brand endorsements. He reportedly charges around 3 crores per commercial and has associated with brands like Colgate, Dulux Paint, Tommy Hilfiger, and Reebok.

It is to be noted that Shahid Kapoor did not have money to travel for his acting auditions. But today, he owns as many as two houses in Mumbai – a sea-facing flat in Juhu and a duplex apartment in Worli.
