In a shocking revelation by activist Mansoor Darvesh, it has now been found out that the Maharashtra government’s top departments have no records pertaining to the Salman Khan’s 2002 hit and run case. When Darvesh filed an RTI query asking for all details regarding the total number of counsels, lawyers, solicitors, legal advisers, public prosecutors, etc. engaged and appointed by the state government to fight the case and also the expenses incurred by the State government on this case from its start till the verdict day i.e May 6th, the activist was shocked to find out that no such information exists.

According to the reply presented by the government on his query, only partial information is available since a major chunk of the papers were lost in the 2012 fire that broke out in the Mantralaya.
While the State government had earlier assured to re-construct the destroyed files, nothing has been done so far.
