The MAMI fest is coming soon and has already got people talking about the films to be screened. The 12th International Film Festival is set to open with the film The Social Network. The film, based on the founding of the social networking site Facebook, had previously been screened at the 48th New York Film Festival in September.

Director David Fincher, of Fight Club and The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button fame, focuses his film ‘The Social Network’ on the tumultuous founding years of Facebook. The movie is based on Ben Mezrich’s 2009 book ‘The Accidental Billionaires’. The film is set to hit theatres in the US on 1st October, 2010 but will be released in India on 10th December.

And there’s more! Hollywood film maker Oliver Stone will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at MAMI. The American director and screenwriter, noted for his controversial films on political and cultural issues, is the man behind movies like Wall Street, W. and World Trade Center. Oliver Stone and Indian actor-director Manoj Kumar will be felicitated with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 12th Mumbai Film Festival.
The Mumbai Film Festival will be held from 21st October to 28th October, 2010.
