A few days ago, it came in the news that Alia Bhatt had injured her shoulder in Bulgaria, where she was shooting for Ayan Mukerji’s upcoming action-adventure Brahmastra, along with Ranbir Kapoor. While she refused to stop shooting for the film, she won’t be filming any of the action sequences.

A source had confirmed the news to Mumbai Mirror, saying, “Yes, on Saturday, Alia injured her shoulder while filming an action sequence. The schedule has been tough and challenging on several levels and this accident has set us back by two days.”

According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, Alia’s mother Soni Razdan said, “She has injured her shoulder in an action sequence in Bulgaria. Alia being Alia is taking it ‘on the chin’ or ‘on the shoulder’ as it were in this case. The early reports suggest some ligament damage and a haematoma, so she must rest the shoulder for some time now and not do any more action. Apart from this, she is her usual smiling self.”

According to some reports, Alia might not be able to film any action sequences for at least 2 years. There were talks of Alia starring in a movie along the lines of Lara Croft, but that will have to wait for the time being.

This is a problem for the Brahmastra team since the first schedule was supposed to be completed by the end of March. The team is trying to look for alternatives to shoot the remaining action scenes.

Brahmastra is part one of a trilogy, produced by Karan Johar, where Ranbir Kapoor plays a superhero with special powers. The film also features Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy.
