Bankchor is an uncanny wicked film from YRF. And given that the production house is denouncing its mores and making different stuff, Bankchor is one film to seek surely. We visited the sets of Bankchor, a few days back and mounted realistically, a great deal of sweat and toiling has been put into making the bank look great and close to the colonial architecture of old banks in South Bombay. Bank Of Indians becomes the venue for a lot of commotion. Catching up with Vivek Oberoi who plays the pivotal character in the film, we got him to delve out more about the exciting fun film that Bankchor promises to be. Oberoi told us, “I have never played a cop before. This is my first time. I play a CBI guy here, Yash Raj ka cop hai (smiles). Yes, my character is a supercop in the film. He is a specialist sort of a guy. He is a no nonsense, wrap up the case at the earliest, quick justice variety of cop. He was in Kargil before, has won gallantry awards there. This man is a dude. And why is he here in a bank robbery confuses everyone! After all, he is a cop of repute and stature. Ek supercop bank ki chori ke liye kyun aaya hai, something is wrong. That’s a major part of the play.”
