Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 4’ has defeated Salman Khan’s ‘Bigg Boss 4’ in the race for TRPs. And we are talking only about the inaugural episode of KBC. Now, this might be because of the hype surrounding KBC, and the fact that it is now in its fourth season, but we beg to differ.

A typical Salman Khan fan will say that bhai cannot lose at anything, least of all in a TRP war. Then what’s really happening here? First of all, Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss airs throughout the week but Salman himself makes an appearance on Fridays and Saturdays. On the other hand, Mr. Bachchan is seen on the show daily, day-after-day. Plus the fact that KBC inaugurated on Amitabh Bachchan’s birthday (October 11), must have helped garner an aMap rating of 5, beating Bigg Boss that had got a rating of 3.6 on its first day telecast.

All said and done, fans of both the shows will be praying that their screen idols make it big on the small screen, but there’s more competition on the way as Akshay Kumar is soon set to make a return to television with his cookery-based game show ‘Master Chef India’.
