Akshay Kumar, With 366 Crores, ONLY Indian On Forbes 100 List Of World’s Highest-Paid Celebrities

Like every year, Forbes is back with its list of Highest-Paid Celebrities. However, this year has seen an unlucky turn as far as India is concerned. Unlike last year, this year, Akshay Kumar is the only celebrity to find a place on the list. But his whopping 366 crores worth is leaving us mind-boggled. For the unversed, Akshay Kumar was part of Forbes 100 list of World’s Highest-Paid Celebrities last year as well. In fact, he was ranked 33. In contrary, this year he has slipped by 19 positions as he ranks at 52nd spot. But did you know, his films Bell Bottom and Bachchan Pandey played a great role in it?

The Sooryavanshi actor last year signed a deal with Amazon for series ‘The End.’ The deal was like a bonanza for our Khiladi who raked in whopping USD 10 million (75 crores) from it. In fact, Amazon’s VP of International Originals, James Farrell spoke to Forbes and opened up on it. “It’s about what people want to see. If they want to see Akshay Kumar in a multiseason, action-thriller, who am I to say watch this instead? It may not be cheap but it’s worth it,” he shared on signing our Khiladi for The End.
