Actor Ajay Devgn is all set to star in an Indo-French film that will have him play the role of King Ashoka. The film’s production of will be done by Manuel Collas De La Roche, a French film ­producer. It will be a directorial venture of Rajkumar Santoshi.

There has not yet been any official confirmation on the female lead. Although grapevine has it that the production house has been looking to rope in a big International name for its female lead.

Buzz is that, Jenifer Lopez is one name that has been suggested considering her proximity to Indian looks. Previously Shah Rukh Khan has played the role of King Ashoka in his Bollywood film Asoka which released in 2001.
