While many Bollywood stars insist to be paid a token amount before their film goes on floors, it’s a nice change to see an actor go out of their way for the convenience of the filmmaker.
You will be surprised to know that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan did not take a single rupee before or during the shooting of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish. The actress, who plays Hrithik Roshan’s gorgeous nurse in the film, gave precedence to her friendship with Bhansali, and shot for the film. It was only after the shooting was completed that Aishwarya received her remuneration of Rs. 2 crores. Ash and Bhansali have remained close since they did two films together – Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999) and Devdas (2002). No wonder they say that beauty is skin deep…
Incidentally, Aishwarya has also reportedly slashed her fee for Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine. It is said that the actress will have a share in the profits of the film with co-star Arjun Rampal.
