Columbia’s Battle: Los Angeles invaded the top spot at the North American box-office with the second-biggest start of the year so far – behind only Rango. It raked in US $35.6 million in its debut weekend.
The previous weekend’s topper, Rango, dropped one place to come in second. Grossing $22.6 million in its second weekend, the Paramount flick took its 10-day total to $68.2 million. Warner Bros.’ Red Riding Hood collected $14 million to debut at the third spot.
At no. 4 was The Adjustment Bureau which slipped two places from the previous weekend. It added just $11.6 million to its kitty in its second weekend, taking its 10-day total to $38.6 million. Rounding off the Top 5 chart was the third new entry last weekend – Mars Needs Moms. The Walt Disney film proved an utter flop, eking out just $6.9 million in its debut weekend.
