Shivaay has managed to hold itself pretty well right through its first week and registered a total of 70.41 crore. This has ensured that now all eyes would be on how the film does in the second week. It all boils down to stability now since that is what would make the film’s journey towards the 100 crore mark all the more comfortable. The second week is wide open for the film as there is no new notable release. Moreover, the only competition is Ae Dil Hai Mushkil but then the pockets in which both the films are running have been divided now. Also, Ajay Devgn’s film is targeting single screens at mass centers big time.
This also means that Ajay Devgn would be eyeing Shivaay at turning out to be his second highest grosser ever after Singham Returns.
This is how the lifetime total of some of his biggest grossers stands currently:
Singham Returns – 140 crore
Golmaal 3 – 108 crore
Bol Bachchan – 103 crore
Son of Sardaar – 102 crore
Singham – 100 crore
Each of his biggies, barring Singham Returns, has collected between 100-110 crore which means it is going to be an interesting ride up the ladder for Ajay Devgn and his Shivaay. As a matter of fact out of these five films, four (barring Son of Sardaar) have been with Rohit Shetty.
Now Ajay would be looking at his own directorial outing ensuring a 100 crore winner with Shivaay, and find a place just after Singham Returns.
Note: All collections as per production and distribution sources
