Among the many South Indian movies that were released in theatres in the last 3-4 months of 2024, Guntur Kaaram is one of them. The Telugu action drama is directed by Trivikram Srinivas and stars Mahesh Babu, Sreeleela, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Jagapathi Babu, Prakash Raj, Ramya Krishnan, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rao Ramesh, and Sunil. The film was released in theatres on January 12, 2024.
When the movie was released in theatres, it mostly received negative reviews. However, fans couldn’t get enough of Guntur Kaaram’s action set pieces, music, and their favourite, Mahesh Babu. The movie is about two thugs in the city who cause disruption everywhere. Jagapathi Babu plays one of the villains, a thug named Dokka Marx Babu. The actor never fails to leave an impression with his villainous acts.

In an interview, Jagapathi Babu revealed that he didn’t like Guntur Kaaram and shared the reason for the same. As reported by Gulte, the Pushpa 2 actor said, “Although I’ve always loved working with Mahesh Babu, to be very honest, I didn’t enjoy Guntur Kaaram. Initially, the characterization was strong but became messy afterwards, and eventually, it became very difficult for me to finish the shoot. I did whatever I had to do. I don’t want to waste our combinations on such films; it should be the best.”

Meanwhile, the movie is currently streaming on Netflix. So far, the director or lead actor Mahesh Babu has not reacted to Jagapathi’s statement. Furthermore, recently, Jagapathi revealed that he will be the main villain in Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 3. The sequel is releasing on August 15, 2024, and the threequel is already confirmed. The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faashil and others. The report mentioned that the actor will be revealed as a villain in the Sukumar directorial towards the end of Pushpa 2.
