The K-dramas nowadays are making quite a buzz across the globe, and recently released dramas like Doona, My Dearest Part 2, Destined With You, The Worst Of Evil, and others have been leading the viewership ranking list. Now, as per reports, Doona has beaten My Dearest Part 2 within its first week of release. Scroll ahead to read further!

Netflix’s original series Doona, starring Bae Suzy and Yang Se-jong, has ranked first place in the TV-OTT combined Topicality Rankings. However, even though the series made it to the top spot, the actors ranked relatively low in the cast category. This series marks the fourth Netflix-original series to achieve this honor after ‘Mask Girl’ (Episode 1), ‘The Glory Part 2′ (Episode 3), and ‘The Glory’ (Episode 3).

Doona takes the lead over ‘My Dearest Part 2’ by 1.8% in regard to the topicality based on news, VON (Voice on Netizen), and SNS, but at the same time, Bae Suzy and Yang Se-jong ranked in third and fourth position in the cast topicality category, respectively. Good Data’s CEO Won Soon-woo shared, “While ‘Doona!’ may not have much higher topicality than previous Netflix No.1 works, it’s meaningful that a pure youth romance work, as opposed to crime, action or revenge genres, claimed the top spot. Ultimately, the future of OTT depends on whether they can succeed with popular genres like TV dramas,” as quoted in KBIzoom.
