The Oscar-winning British screenwriter, Sir Ronald Harwood, who was known for writing films like The Pianist, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, The Dresser and Quartet, is no more. This is certainly a huge loss to the entertainment fraternity. He was 85 and died of natural causes on Tuesday.

Harwood was nominated at Oscars for the best-adapted screenplay twice. Once for 1983’s The Dresser and then again in 2007, for The Diving Bell and The Butterfly.

Sir Ronald Harwood’s agent Judy Daish told BBC about the unfortunate event. In a statement, she said, “His wife Natasha died in 2013 and Sir Ronald is survived by their children Antony, Deborah and Alexandra.”
