If it weren’t for the pandemic, Marvel fans would’ve got to watch Scarlett Johansson’s, Black Widow. After being a part of MCU for at least 10 years, ScarJo got her first solo film. Hence, it is a big deal for all fans. But we all have to wait longer to know the story of our beloved Natasha Romanoff.

We all bid goodbye to Natasha in Avengers: Endgame. Scarlett Johansson’s character sacrificed herself so that Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye could get the Soul Stone. Her death broke people’s hearts. But they were also mad at Marvel for not giving a farewell to Black Widow. But one doesn’t have to blame the writers of Russo Brothers for it. It’s was the Jojo Rabbit actress who said Natasha needs no funeral.

This revelation was made by BW director Cate Shortland. In an interview with Empire, Cate shared, “In Endgame, the fans were upset that Natasha did not have a funeral. Whereas Scarlett, when I spoke to her about it, said Natasha wouldn’t have wanted a funeral. She’s too private, and anyway, people don’t really know who she is. So what we did in this film was allow the ending to be the grief the individuals felt, rather than a big public outpouring. I think that’s a fitting ending for her.”
