Thalapathy 69 is going to be an event film and is already among the most anticipated Kollywood releases. It puts the curtains down on Thalapathy Vijay’s successful box office run (at least for some years), as he’ll be focusing on full-time politics. Being the superstar’s final film, fans thought it’d be backed by a fresh and exciting subject, but rumors suggest that it’s a remake of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s underperformer.

The film in the discussion is Balayya’s Bhagavanth Kesari. Ever since the official announcement was made, there have been rumors that Vijay’s last film is either inspired by or an official remake of Balayya’s 2023 release. This has hurt many fans of the Kollywood superstar as they think that the remake tag dents the overall business potential of the film.

As per Track Tollywood’s report, the rumors about Thalapathy 69 being a remake of Bhagavanth Kesari are seemingly true, as the people close to the producers state that they have bought the remake rights of the Nandamuri Balakrishna starrer. If it’s true, then it’s not good because even the original film was an underperformer at the Indian box office despite its share of merits.
