Shraddha Kapoor & Rajkummar Rao are finally roaring at the box office, with Stree 2’s opening day collection crossing the 50 crore mark as expected. The film took a swift start last night and had a mammoth advance booking for today, bringing an unbelievable number on cards.
Stree 2 Day 1 Box Office Collection
According to the early trends, Shraddha Kapoor & Rajkummar Rao’s horror comedy has taken a roaring start at the box office, bringing around 54 – 55 crore collection on the opening day, including the paid previews.
While Stree 2 earned 8 crore on day 0, that is, August 14 with the night shows, it dethroned Shah Rukh Khan’s 11-year-old record of bringing the highest paid-preview collection with Chennai Express’s 6.75 crore. Now the film has brought an unexpected number on the first day.
Moving ahead with the 8 crore, Amar Kaushik’s horror-comedy film earned almost 46 crore on day 1, taking the total to a huge 54 crore! With this opening number, Stree 2 will enter the list of highest openers in Bollywood ever, which is ruled by Jawan’s 75 crore.
Stree 2 Beats Khel Khel Mein
The film won the three-way clash by a huge margin, earning 980% more than Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein. While Shraddha Kapoor & Rajkummar Rao‘s film has touched the 54 crore mark, it has earned 10.8 times higher than Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein, which managed to open at only around 5 – 6 crore!
Dethrones KGF 2
The horror-comedy dethrones KGF 2 (Hindi) opening day, which earned 53.95 crore and occupied the number 4 position in the list of biggest Bollywood openers of all time. Now,Stree 2 has snatched the throne with its estimated 54 crore, just below Pathaan, and sits at number 3 with 57 crore on opening day!
