Among last Friday’s releases, Paan Singh Tomarpicked up very well over the weekend. The Irrfan Khan starrer collected Rs. 75 lakh on Friday, Rs. 1.35 crore on Saturday and Rs. 2 crore on Sunday (all figures are all-India net collections).
However, in spite of the pickup in collections, the final tally of Paan Singh Tomar will not be enough to recover the cost of the film (Rs. 8 crore) plus the interest cost incurred due to the 2-3 year delay in the film’s release.
On the other hand, the collections of the Ali Zafar-Aditi Rao Hydari starrer London Paris New Yorkwere not very good. The film collected Rs. 1 crore on the opening day; Rs. 1.25 crore on Saturday and Rs. 1.35 – 1.50 crore on Sunday. The final tally of the film will not be good enough to cover its cost (Rs. 14 crore).
