This Independence Day, Stree 2’s storm has taken over the entire country, and the film is running like a solo release. On the other hand, Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham’s Vedaa have sent shockwaves due to their performances in advance booking at the Indian box office for day 1. The only good thing is that both biggies have saved themselves from embarrassment. Keep reading to know more!

Akshay and John aren’t clashing for the first time, as before this battle, they locked horns with each other on two more occasions. In 2018, Gold and Satyameva Jayate were released on Independence Day. In 2019, Mission Mangal and Batla House were released on the same day. On both occasions, both releases turned out to be winners, but in terms of collection, Akshay Kumar had the upper hand. Unfortunately, this time, it seems that both stars will struggle amid Stree 2 fever.

As per the final update of day 1 advance booking, Akshay Kumar‘s Khel Khel Mein sold tickets worth 1.56 crores gross (excluding blocked seats) across the nation. Initially, it felt like the film would end up below the 1 crore mark, but in the last few hours, it picked up some pace. Now, if word-of-mouth turns out to be good, it’ll attract decent footfalls due to the Independence Day holiday.
