Jana Nayagan has been a show of pure stardom so far, as it wrapped up its first weekend on a high note. With the film being postponed by several months and facing an online leak, many wrote it off from a box-office perspective, but Thalapathy Vijay’s stardom has stunned everyone. Even before the first day ended, mixed-to-negative word of mouth spread like wildfire, but it didn’t significantly affect the film’s run. In fact, it went on to register the superstar’s 3rd-biggest opening weekend in India.

Today, on the first Sunday, the political thriller picked up across all languages, with the original Tamil version registering superb occupancy throughout the day. While night shows are yet to conclude, early trends suggest a solid 31-33 crore are coming in on day 4. Compared to day 3’s 28.9 crore, it’s a jump of 7.26-14.18%. Overall, the film stands at 123.75-125.75 crore net at the Indian box office, which equals 146.02-148.38 crore gross.
