Sunny was an action star during the 90s and enjoyed unprecedented fame. His 2001 release, Gadar, was also an all-time blockbuster. After such glory, he was out of the picture and failed to deliver big successes until 2023. With Gadar 2, he made a rocking comeback and delivered another all-time blockbuster with over 500 crore net collection at the Indian box office.
After Gadar 2, Sunny Deol returns with Jaat, and the halo effect is clearly visible. The audience is excited to witness the actor’s action-packed and angry avatar on the big screen.
Jaat’s trailer was unveiled a couple of weeks ago, and it took everyone by surprise. Released amid minimal expectations, the trailer was actually good, presenting Sunny in a pure massy style. Even the villain in Randeep Hooda looked impactful. The overall package was entertaining, thus fetching mostly positive reactions. So, the trailer did its job of elevating the buzz and creating a genuine interest on the ground.
Jaat will also enjoy the benefit of the Mahavir Jayanti holiday tomorrow. So, over-the-counter ticket sales will be solid, especially in B and C centers considering Sunny Deol’s presence and genre of the film.

Considering all the factors mentioned above and a solid show count (likely to exceed 10,000), Jaat is in a comfortable position to score double-digits. It is expected to earn a good 10-12 crore net at the Indian box office on day 1. With this, it will surpass Yamla Pagla Deewana’s 7.75 crores to be Sunny Deol’s second biggest opener after Gadar 2 (40.10 crores)
