Like there’s bhed chaal in Bollywood, there’s herd mentality in Hollywood too. Producer after producer in the US film industry seems to be making films about the end of Earth or apocalypse. A few films in this genre had clicked, setting off a virtual trend of making such films.
Now, of course, more films made in this genre are failing rather than working. This week’s World Invasion: Battle Los Angeles is yet another film on impending disaster. Little wonder then that the latest disaster film has proven to be a disaster at the box-office. For, how many times can the audience keep watching the same story unfold on the screen?
