In recent times, Johnny Depp has been the newsmaker for not-so-good reasons. So, our today’s edition would be a breath of fresh air for all his fans. Here, we’ll be not talking about his issues with ex-wife Amber Heard but his iconic franchise, Pirates Of The Caribbean.

The franchise kick-started in 2003 with a part titled ‘The Curse of the Black Pearl’. The first instalment turned out to be a huge commercial and critical success, thus opening the doors for the franchise. Over the years, the entire series has garnered a huge fan base. Also, it wouldn’t be an overstatement if we say that Depp’s Jack Sparrow enjoys its own fan following, same or somewhat greater than that of the franchise.

Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow captivated the viewers with his eccentric charm and antics. The character still holds its magic as it’s weirdly funny. But what if we say, Depp had a vision of making it weirder than someone could have ever thought. Yes, the versatile actor had proposed an idea that his character should be with no nose. He also had some other elements in mind.

Unfortunately, Walt Disney Pictures didn’t like the idea and Johnny Depp ended up playing the ‘normal’ Jack Sparrow.

Meanwhile, initially, Robert de Niro was offered the role of Jack Sparrow before Johnny Depp. However, he declined the offer thinking the film will do poorly at the box office. Robert thought so because earlier Pirates film didn’t do well at the box office. Well, Robert’s decision proved to be his loss but a big benefit for Johnny Depp whose career got a great benefit with POTC films.
