The Jungle Book has emerged as a huge HIT at the Box Office. The film opened beyond expectations and managed to score in double digits on the opening day. The momentum only grew further over the weekend as the word of mouth started spreading.
Since this is practically the only major film in the running currently and is catering to an all-India audience across all age groups, the moolah accumulated has been quite impressive. This is pretty much reflected in the 40.19 crore collections that the Hollywood biggie has managed to boast of in three days flat.
The film is competing with the best of the Hollywood biggies that have scored in India. When compared to these, this is how Jungle Book stands:
Fast and the Furious 7 – 50.11 crore [4 day weekend]
Jungle Book – 40.19 crore
Avengers – The Age of Ultrons – 35.75 crore
Mission Impossible Rogue Nation – 26.9 crore
Spectre – 23.7 crore
Jurassic World – 23 crore
Jungle Book is pretty much neck to neck with Avengers – The Age of Ultrons which had collected 53.75 crore in its Week One. It is now pretty much sure that Jungle Book will go past this score. That said, the film is already a Hit and is on way to being a Superhit in a matter of days from now.
As for Love Games, the film has hardly found any takers. The film’s opening weekend is 3.06 crore and with the kind of reviews it has garnered from majority coupled with word of mouth which hasn’t spread much either due to low opening, it is a tough week ahead for the Patralekha, Tara Alisha Berry and Gaurav Arora starrer.
