Bangistan, one of the poorest made films of the year so far, has turned out to be a Box Office Disaster on Day One itself. The film was expected to open on a low note; however occupancy in the range of 5%-10% is still way below the fate that was laid down for it. The film struggled from the opening show itself and with nothing really going in its favor as the day progressed, the collections stayed rock bottom throughout. So much so that the Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani produced film struggled to reach even the 1 crore mark.

Such poor are the collections that these are now the record lowest for all involved with the film. Excel’s lowest opener till date was Abhishek Bachchan starrer Game and now Bangistan has collected just a few lakhs more on the opening day. While Game went on to nett 2.5 crore over the weekend, Bangistan would cross that but that’s not saying much.

For Riteish Deshmukh, these are now the lowest numbers for him since his solo release Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya (2012) which had netted around 2 crore on the opening day.

Pulkit Samrat’s O Teri is his lowest grosser till date and the film had collected 80 lakhs on the opening day. Again, Bangistan is just a little better.

As for the releases from notable production houses this year, Bangistan finds itself at the rock bottom with only Reliance’s Hawaizaada, T-Series’ I Love NY and Viacom’s Margarita With A Straw [all opening at 50 lakhs on Friday] for competition.
