Ajay Devgn starrer Singham Returns has done an exceptional business at the Box Office in India. The movie, which collected 32 crores on Day 1, has beaten 2014’s the Highest Opening Day record held by Salman Khan’s Eid release Kick (26 crores). 

Yes, it is inequitable to compare Kick, which was a non-holiday release, with a Independence Day release. However, Kick had a larger screen count compared to Singham Returns. While Kick had released in 4000 screens in India, this Rohit Shetty directorial released in 3610 screens in India.

Singham Returns now holds the record of 2014’s Highest Opening Day Collections. This also marks Ajay Devgn’s Highest Opener so far. There is a strong mouth publicity for this flick, and going by its current pace, Singham Returns might emerge has Ajay’s Highest Grosser as well!
