Like Shah Rukh Khan described at Koffee With Karan’s latest episode – Alia Bhatt is one of the finest actors of the generations, who has tasted success very quickly. 7 films old Alia, recently had another big release, Dear Zindagi.
Quickly looking at the opening weekend collections of all her films – right from 2012 to 2016 – so far, it was only Highway that couldn’t earn much moolah at the box office.
Alia’s debut flick SOTY aka Student Of The Year, was one of the most hyped films of 2012, which helped it to collect 28.50 crores. Though Kapoor And Sons was not a wholesome Alia film, due to good music and positive word of mouth, it managed to rake in 26.35 crores in its 1st 3 days.
Films | Year | Opening Weekend Total |
---|---|---|
2 States | 2014 | 38.00 Cr |
Shaandaar | 2015 | 34.00 Cr |
Udta Punjab | 2016 | 33.80 Cr |
Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania | 2014 | 33.74 Cr |
Kapoor And Sons | 2016 | 26.35 Cr |
Student Of The Year | 2012 | 28.50 Cr |
Dear Zindagi | 2016 | 20.00 Cr |
Highway | 2014 | 13.50 Cr |
Since Dear Zindagi is being well received by audiences, and the advantage of SRK’s presence in it, it is heading towards a 30 crores opening weekend collection. Nevertheless, it’ll still be interesting to see whether it’ll beat opening weekend business of SOTY and Kapoor And Sons.
Directed by Gauri Shinde, the film also stars Kunal Kapoor and Angad Bedi in key roles.
