Delhi boy Sidharth Malhotra is getting a hang of things as far as his stint in Bollywood is concerned. Over 100 days have gone by since the release of his debut flick Student Of The Year and while he is already gearing up to begin work on his next two films, Hasee Toh Phasee and The Villain, Sidharth is slowly but steadily waking up to what stardom is all about.
“When I did Student Of The Year, I had no idea how things would eventually turn out to be. Of course it was someone as huge as Karan Johar launching us but then it took time for the whole thing to sink in. I started getting a slight hang of what future would entail during the promotional tours. However the true realization struck once the film turned into a hit. Aisa halka sa lagna laga tha jaise stardom jaisi kuch cheez hoti hai”, smiles Sidharth.
“In fact Varun (Dhawan) and I used to joke that yaar sach mein picture itno chal rahi hai, paisa bhi bana rahi hai; hum log kahin paagal toh nahi ho jaayenge”, he quips
With good popularity coming his way and the industry waking up to him, Sidharth has realised that it is high time he started presenting himself as a mini celebrity at the least.
“All credit to Dharma that has put me out there and made me a slightly known face. I have to be groomed and conscious of how I dress and look”, smiles Sidharth, “By no means am I complaining though. It was a cool feeling after all. Everyone wants to become a hero so that he can be a known face. If that has started then it is a good sign. I know now that a bit of change is necessary and I can’t step out in a regular jeans or chappals. I will miss that but then that’s okay; I wanted to be popular and be in the centre of the world of glamour. It’s not a bad bargain after all!”
