Amid all the happenings around the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, now the late actor’s father KK Singh has filed a complaint against psychiatrist Dr Susan Walker in the Medical Council of India. A case of professional misconduct has been filed against Walker for disclosing Sushant’s mental health details in public. Below is all you need to know.
It was in an interview with a news channel when Dr Susan Walker spoke about Sushant’s bipolar disorder. Walker had also revealed that Rhea Chakraborty was his most significant support system in that phase of his life.
Now, Sushant Singh Rajput’s father KK Singh has filed a complaint against her. As per ANI, the complaint is filed under Regulation 8.2 of the Indian Medical Council (Professional Conduct, Etiquette and Ethics) Regulations, 2002 (*2002 Regulations) for professional misconduct committed by Registered Medical Practitioner (RMP) namely, Ms Susan Walker under Regulation 7.14 of the 2002 Regulations.
Sushant Singh Rajput’s father’s complaint read, “Recently, it has come to my knowledge, that the above-mentioned medical practitioner has given a news interview to a senior journalist making disclosures qua the medical condition of Sushant Singh Rajput and making public, ‘secrets’ which she obtained in a strictly professional capacity and the disclosure, barring the mentioned exceptions, would amount to professional misconduct.”
“As such, it is clear that Ms. Susan Walker has waived her confidentiality without any legal basis and without even consulting the complainant and as such she has committed professional misconduct under Regulation 7.14 of the 2002 Regulations,” the complaint concluded.
Meanwhile, Rhea Chakraborty has also filed a complaint against Sushant Singh Rajput’s sisters Priyanka Singh and Mitu Singh. The actor died by suicide in his Mumbai residence on June 14.
