Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone outshone the rest as the two managed to come out as neat winners at the 20th Screen Awards’ evening. Director Rohit Shetty surely must have been elated as both SRK and Deepika bagged the top awards (Best Actor and Best Actress) of the evening in the popular category for his film Chennai Express. King Khan still rules the hearts of his audiences and Deepika Padukone is zooming into being the queen of the industry with her success.
Farhan Akhtar however managed to match up by bagging the Best Actor Award for Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Deepika held on to her Best Actress’ trophy for both Ramleela and Chennai Express.
SRK was extremely humbled by the honor as he said, “Thank you for the popular choice award. I will work harder, be inspired and try to do my best Inshallah, not only for the company (Red Chillies Entertainments Pvt Ltd) but also my children. Thank you.”
However, the real prize for him was the acknowledgement of the work Red Chillies’ VFX did on the superhero flick Krrish 3. He went ahead and said, “Most proud of the Red Chillies VFX award, I think they are very hardworking. The work they do is very different and difficult in this country. So I’m very very proud of it. Congratulations to Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik Roshan and thank you for giving us the opportunity to work on the film.”
Amongst the other top awards, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra bagged the Best Film award for his biopic Bhaag Milkha Bhaag abd Shoojit Sircar won the Award for Best Director for his brilliant film on the Lankan Civil War, Madras Cafe.
