The opening response to the films released on Friday (29th April, 2011) has been so poor that even the combined percentage of all the films on the first day in any show would not add up to 100! Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK’s ensemble cast film may be titled Shor In The City but there is almost an eerie silence in the cinemas screening it. Of all the new releases, Chalo Dilli may have commanded the best opening of the day but that’s only in comparison to the other films, all of which have taken poor starts. Even Dilli (Delhi) hasn’t been too kind to ‘Chalo Dilli’. Govinda’s Naughty @ 40 may have tried to be very modern with the ‘@’ in its title but the content seems to be like what one saw a decade or two ago. Many multiplexes did not give the Govinda-starrer too many shows as they were sure, it was not meant for their patrons.
