Detective Byomkeysh Bakshy is already in its second schedule and yet there has been no reports on the film’s leading lady. However, fleeting rumors suggest that popular Bengali actress Swastika Mukherjee has been roped in for the role. The actress, who is best remembered for films like Bhooter Bhobishyot (remade by Satish Kaushik into Gang Of Ghosts), Ami Aar Amaar Girlfriends and Take One About A MMS Scandal, the actress will be seen playing a Bengali housewife in the film.
The report also suggested that both Dibaker Banerjee and the Yash Raj Films is trying their best to keep the nitty gritty details in wraps. Being a detective film, a certain mystery around the project will be valid and necessary. Also the actress’ bold persona might be toned down for the film and present her more as a docile woman than a bombshell. Swastika is known for her crackling statements and has no inhibitions about speaking her mind out to the media more often than not.

This will be the first time Swastika will appear in a Bollywood film. Though no details of her chemistry with Sushant has leaked out so far, one can expect a rustic flavor in the sparks that will fly between the duo, with the film’s old worldly charm and sticking to the period film genre.
