Ranvir Shorey in his career spanning close to 2 decades has acted in over 40 films. The former VJ turned actor kick-started his acting career back in 2002 with Ek Chotisi Love Story, and since then there has been no looking back for him. With his acting versatility, the actor has played varied characters in various genres. Be it Lakshya, Traffic Signal, Khosla Ka Ghosla, Pyaar Ke Side Effects, Mixed Doubles, Bheja Fry among many others Ranvir has never failed to leave a mark in audience’s mind with his acting and characters which he portrays on the big screen.

In a recent interview to a leading tabloid, Ranvir Shorey opened up about his thoughts about awards function. The actor stated that he feels invisible at awards show. The reason being the fact that despite playing many memorable characters and powerful characters he has always been ignored.

As per Hindustan Times talking to Siddharth Kannan, Ranvir Shorey said, “You can see for yourself. Look at the awards shows for the last 10-15 years. Look at my filmography and see what performances of mine they have completely ignored. Not even nominations.”

You get an idea. When you talk to the audience, you get a feeling of how well the film had done, how well your role was received. For awards shows, I don’t exist. Barely. Only when they absolutely cannot hide their faces, they nominate me,” added Singh Is Kinng actor.

Ranvir Shorey also revealed in the interview that there have been times when he felt like quitting the film industry, but it’s his love and passion for acting that has kept him going on.

“What keeps me going is that this is the work that I love the most. You sometimes work without money too, for the work itself, like doing theatre and zero-budget films. What keeps you going is the love and passion for the work,” said the actor.

On the film front, Ranvir Shorey who was last seen in Irrfan Khan-led Angrezi Medium will next be seen in comedy-drama, Lootcase. The film also stars Kunal Kemmu, Gajraj Rao, Vijay Raaz along with others.

Lootcase will release on Disney Plus Hotstar on 31st July.
