If you hear of South Indian film director Priyadarshan announcing a Bengali film, don’t be surprised. While he was shooting Bumm Bumm Bole, actress Rituparna Sengupta, who plays a key role in the film, gifted him scripts of Rabindranath Tagore and some DVDs of Bengali films, all this after she learnt of Priyan’s love for Bengali cinema. Says the filmmaker, “I have grown up watching Bengali films and I would definitely say, they have helped hone my filmmaking skills and ability to understand the art of making good cinema to a great extent. I would love to make a Bengali film soon.”
