Just recently we had reported about John Abraham’s renewed interest in doing some serious hardcore action drama flicks. This is the reason it wasn’t really shocking when his name came to fore for a Hollywood production. Titled ‘Deterrence Theory‘, the film is expected to go on floors next year and release in Winter 2014. The only trouble in the tale is that even though the makers seem to have zeroed down on John, the actor says that he is unaware about any such developments.
“A Hollywood production which would be made in English and Arabic, ‘Deterrence Theory‘ would be directed by Angelo Bell. It is an action film, something that goes with John’s liking as well, with a strong undercurrent of sex and romantic element to it. Other than John, the makers have Romany Malco, Rayna Tharani, Tiffany Hines and Samantha Mumba in mind as well. The official announcement would be made though once everything related to the film is sorted out and it would be ready to go on floors,” informs our source.
The film has an interesting plot line though and could well suit John’s personality. It is about a disgraced US Marshal who is reinstated to track down an escaped female prisoner. However there is a shocker in store as the Marshal realises that his growing sexual obsession for the beautiful convict and his shortcomings as a cop are the reasons why he was chosen for the job.
“It is uncertain though if John would be playing the role of a cop or would he be seen in some other important role (which seems more likely),” the source adds.
When contacted though, John dashed our hopes on seeing him in a Hollywood film soon. Totally unaware about the project in picture, he shrugged away the insinuation and said that he hadn’t even heard about it. However, with internet abuzz with his rumoured casting in the film, one waits to see if after Emraan Hashmi, we would have another hot blood making way to the West soon. Finger crossed!
