It has been just 49 days into 2024, and the start has not been a good one. In these one-and-a-half months, as many as six celebrity couples have called it quits. The year started with a sudden shock from Sania Mirza, who started posting cryptic notes about divorces.
Meanwhile, the newest couple, who is now an ex-couple, is the Bigg Boss – Khatron Ke Khiladi fame duo who first met on the sets of the TV series Rakshabandhan – Nyrra Banerji and Nishant Malkhani.
Last year, many celebrity couples, including Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Aliya Siddiqui, Yo Yo Honey Singh & Shalini Talwar, Sushmita Sen and her boyfriend Lalit Modi, Rajeev Sen & wife Charu Asopa parted ways. However, it was Kusha Kapila whose divorce from Zorawar Singh Ahluwalia grabbed headlines.
The year 2024 has also come along with the heartbreaking news of some couples moving apart from each other and heading ahead solo in life.
1. Nyrra Banerji – Nishant Malkhani

Nyrra and Nishant first met on the sets of the TV show Rakshabandhan. Nishant participated in Bigg Boss, and Nyrra was a part of the reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi. They were expected to get married, but in an interview with TOI, Nishant clarified that they are better off as friends.
2. Sania Mirza – Shoaib Malik

The world woke up to a shock when Shoaib Malik posted pictures of his third wedding without announcing his split from his ex-wife, Sania Mirza. Later, it was revealed that the Tennis star went for a Khulla with Shoaib, and the family requested privacy from the media.
3. Esha Deol – Bharat Takhtani

Recently, via a statement given to a portal, Esha Deol announced her separation from her husband, Bharat Takhtani. Rumors of the same were rife when Bharat was not seen at Hema Malini’s grand birthday celebration in 2023, followed by his absence on Esha Deol’s birthday.
4. Dalljiet Kaur – Nikhil Patel

Actress Dalljiet Kaur, who married a businessman from Kenya, Nikhil Patel, last year, is reportedly going through trouble in paradise. She moved to Nairobi after getting married and was living with her nine-year-old son Jaydon (from her first marriage to Shalin Bhanot.) Amidst the separation rumors, Dalljiet and Nikhil have unfollowed each other on Instagram and deleted all their pictures from the wedding.
5. Pavitra Punia – Eijaz Khan

Pavitra and Eijaz’s separation rumors have been doing the rounds since last year. A few days ago, Eijaz moved out of their Malad home while Pavitra continued to stay there. In an interview quoted by Times Now, Eijaz said, “I hope Pavitra finds the love and success she deserves.” Even Pavitra commented on their relationship, saying it had its shelf life and she wishes for Eijaz to do well in life.
6. A Twist In Tale – Shubhangi Atre – Piyush Poore

Last year, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai fame Shubhangi Atre announced separation from her husband Piyush Poore, and the couple was supposed to file for divorce this year. However, a report by Hindustan Times quoted, “There was a time when the couple tried to work on their relationship and give a second chance to their marriage. But that didn’t work out. They have made peace with the fact that they can’t live together, but they don’t want to go ahead with the divorce proceedings.”
We hope 2024 does not bring any more such heartbreaking news and everyone stays happy and together in their own little paradise.
