Despite all the rave reviews and praises for Dabangg, the movie has its share of critics and problems as well. Just when Arbaaz thought he was done with the Zandu Balm controversy, there was the problem over a telephone number of a school on the movie’s poster. If that isn’t enough, socialite and author Shobhaa De has been shooting off her mouth about Salman Khan’s comments on the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai.
On 12th September, following Salman’s remarks about the Mumbai attacks, Shobhaa had tweeted, “Salman K’s shocking statement about 26\11 smacks of arrogance, ignorance and plain stupidity. A lame apology won’t do, Sallubhai. Boycott ‘Dabangg’!”

Now, almost a month later, Arbaaz Khan, producer of Dabangg, has reacted viciously on his twitter account with scathing remarks about Mrs. De’s personal life and her books. “Hey guys what’s your opinion on Shobha De a writer of sleaze and pornographic novels. She writes a lot of shit about Salman and Malaika. Her claim to fame is marrying some rich industrialist. I’m not sure if its 3 or 4. Please let me know. Mr. De hold on to your money or Shobha at 60 can still compete with Elizabeth Taylor. This idiotic woman had recently said ban ‘Dabangg’. Who the hell is she. Is she the god damn law. She’s a frustrated sleaze writer. That’s it”
Arbaaz, evidently, had had enough of the socialite columnist’s comments about his wife Malaika Arora Khan and his brother Salman Khan, who star in the movie. The actor explained, “Shobha’s opinions on my family reeks of bias, jealousy and frustration. I have (been) ignoring her comments for the longest time but no more. Honestly I hate to give people like Shobha any importance but she’s been writing personal, biased stuff for the longest time. Enough is enough.”
Shobhaa De, a 62 year old ex-model, ex-editor of magazines like Stardust, Society and Celebrity, has invited the wrath of Bollywood celebs in the past as well. Actress Sonam Kapoor and director Punit Malhotra were caught in a war of words on the social networking site Twitter and ended when Sonam apologized to the sexagenarian.
