Well, it is often said that the tides might turn for you after some dark days. This holds especially true for Bollywood stars who must bear their undulating fate in a whimsical industry like Bollywood. Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma recently took to his social media handle to share a throwback of a now-finished entertainment magazine that had declared superstar Amitabh Bachchan’s film career to be over. This was after some of Big B’s movies had tanked at the box office.

Ram Gopal Varma, who has worked with Amitabh Bachchan in movies like Aag and Sarkar, said the magazine that made this statement is over, but Big B is still soaring. For the uninitiated, Bachchan’s performance in the recently released Kalki 2898 AD, in which he played Ashwathamma, earned him several laurels. Many fans also reacted to the tweet. Take a look at the X post shared by RGV.

While Amitabh Bachchan had an illustrious career with a glorious filmography, he also suffered a string of flops during the 1980s and 1990s. His career received a second innings after his quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati was launched. It went on to become a booming success and is in its 16th season this year. His acting career was further revived with the 2000 film Mohabbatein.
