Playback singer, Ankit Tiwari whose name reminds us of the soulful song ‘Sun Raha Hai Na Tu‘ from the hit love saga ‘Aashiqui 2‘ has been arrested on grounds of Rape. The singer and his brother Ankur Tiwari have been arrested by the Versova police station for raping a 28-year-old woman.
According to a popular daily, Ankit had been in a relationship with this woman and had promised to marry her but recently changed his mind. Apparently, the victim stays in Mumbai with her sister and met Ankit through a common friend and ever since, the actor and his brother used to visit her often.
The victim filed a complaint with Versova police station today alleging Ankit of raping her and his brother for threatening her last night at her residence. More details about the case are awaited.
