Leonardo DiCaprio may have delivered a gritty, Oscar-nominated performance in Blood Diamond, but behind the scenes, his director caught him in a moment far removed from war zones and diamonds, flipping through a Victoria’s Secret catalog like it was a menu.

Filmmaker Edward Zwick, who directed the 2006 film, shared the cheeky anecdote in his new memoir Hits, Flops, and Other Illusions: My Fortysomething Years in Hollywood. While Leo is famously private, Zwick had no problem pulling back the curtain on this lighthearted memory from the makeup trailer.

“It seems Leo was currently between gorgeous girlfriends,” Zwick wrote (via Daily Mail). “One morning I walked into the makeup trailer as I often did to discuss the day’s work with him. I found him in the chair waiting for his turn and noticed he was paging through a Victoria’s Secret catalogue. ‘What are you doing?’ I asked. Connelly was in the chair beside him. Without even looking over, she said, ‘Shopping.’”

While the set story feels like vintage Leo, his love life is still headline fuel. His latest muse? Italian model Vittoria Ceretti, now 27. Linked since 2023, they’ve hit everything from Art Basel to his 49th birthday bash.
