Akshay-Deepika Flag Off Women’s Car Rally

Bollywood is never a step behind when it comes to celebrating the spirit of womanhood. Be it classic films like Mother India or the new breed of female directors, the industry is always there to support the cause of women’s empowerment. Taking the lead on the eve of this Women’s Day were Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone, who flagged of an all-women’s car rally from Bandra, Bombay.

An enthusiastic Akshay even tweeted about the event, “Flagged off Lavasa’s women’s drive today, it was a ‘Housefull’ affair, great to see so many women together for a cause. Salute the spirit, Happy Women’s Day in advance!”

Akshay and Deepika, whose second film together, Housefull, releases on April 30, shared great camaraderie at the event, readily posing for the photographers after they had flagged of the rally.
