Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: Did You Know? Champaklal’s Character Is A Chain Smoker As Per Original Literature

Over the years, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has maintained its hold as family’s favourite show. It’s been adapted by producer Asit Kumarr Modi from original literature written by legendary writer, Taarak Mehta.

The sitcom is inspired by Taarak Mehta’s works like Duniya Ne Udha Chashma and much more. Those who have followed the veteran writer’s work must be aware that he was master in pulling off satires and harsh realities of the society. His literature has a raw depiction of the characters present around us. So in order to make it suitable for television viewing, Asit Kumarr Modi had to mellow down the original literature. And the same goes for the character of Champaklal, the father of Jethalal.

Portrayed by Amit Bhatt in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Champaklal’s character is shown very righteous individual. He never uses cuss words or possesses any addictions. But in original work, it’s far away from decent!
