What Happens To Eleven In the Stranger Things Finale?

Fans who watched the finale know that Eleven chose to sacrifice herself after killing Vecna. During the mission to defeat him, Kali was shot by a Hawkins Lab soldier.

After Vecna was defeated, everyone returned to the real world. At that moment, Dr. Kay’s team surrounded them. Their goal was to capture Eleven, but she managed to escape them and stood near the gate to the Upside Down.

As the Upside Down began to tear down, Eleven sacrificed herself. The reason behind this was explained earlier by Kali. She warned Eleven that people like Dr. Kay would use her blood to create more children like her. To stop this forever, Eleven believed she had to give up her life. That is why Eleven chose to sacrifice herself in the finale.

Is Eleven Really Alive?

The answer is revealed at the very end of the series, when Mike Wheeler finishes his Dungeons & Dragons story. Mike says that he believes Eleven escaped from there and ran away. According to him, the Eleven everyone saw sacrificing herself was only a visual illusion created by Kali.

In reality, as per Mike’s belief, Eleven is still alive. She is living a peaceful life somewhere, away from everything.
