Hombale Films created a stir this year with the animation film Mahavatar Narsimha, breaking all records globally and bringing the biggest animation film along with the maximum profits in Bollywood this year. The animated film arrived on Netflix last week, and it registered a lukewarm debut on the OTT platform.
The animated film was trending in the list of the top 10 non-English films on Netflix, in four countries – India, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, and Mauritius. It would be interesting to see, if the film takes a jump in the viewership in week 2.
Mahavatar Narsimha OTT Verdict
As per the data by Netflix from September 15 to September 21, Mahavatar Narsimha in its debut week, garnered a viewership of 2.3 million on Netflix against 5 million viewing hours and secured the 5th spot in the globally trending list of top 10 non-English films on Netflix, which is ruled by German-Turkish rom-com, She Said Maybe at number 1 this week.
With its debut week, the animation film based on the avatar of Lord Vishnu, surpassed the debut week numbers of Vicky Kaushal‘s Chhaava, the highest grossing Bollywood film of 2025 worldwide. Chhaava registered a viewership of 2.2 million.
