Ellen DeGeneres seems to be having a tough time with all the allegations against her show. She is so disturbed from all this that the 62-year-old comedian host wants “out of the show” immediately. Despite, enjoying the topmost position, it is labelled as one of the biggest shows on US television, Ellen is looking to walk away from it all.
Reportedly, Ellen is feeling betrayed by the number of allegations regarding her behaviour and the actions of some of the executives which has led to staff speaking out. It is also being said that the popular host is very angry with whatever is happening with her and is feeling like she is a target because of the success she has enjoyed.
A source close to The Ellen DeGeneres Show has told Us Weekly, “She knows she can be tough at times but believes she works hard and is extremely creative and that it’s a privilege to work for her and be around her.” It all kicked off last month when 10 of the employees from the show went to Buzzfeed with allegations of fear and intimidation as well as racism.
On July 30, Ellen DeGeneres took to her social media account and apologised to all the employees for what has happened and how they are feeling. She told the show’s staff: “On day one of our show, I told everyone in our first meeting that The Ellen DeGeneres Show would be a place of happiness – no one would ever raise their voice, and everyone would be treated with respect. Obviously, something changed and I am disappointed to learn that this has not been the case. And for that, I am sorry. Anyone who knows me knows it’s the opposite of what I believe and what I hoped for our show.”
There were some reports which stated that after all this, The Ellen DeGeneres Show might be going off-air. But the executive producer of the show Andy Lassner shared his thoughts on the future of the show on Twitter and said that “Nobody is going off the air.” What do you think would be the right step for Ellen DeGeneres now?
