Sivakarthikeyan’s latest film Madharaasi is now running in theatres. The thriller created good buzz before its release and did well during its opening weekend. In addition to the original Tamil language release, it was also released in multiple languages, including Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.
In the Hindi version, the film is titled Dil Madharaasi. Reviews have been mixed, yet the movie continues to make headlines after Murugadoss shared an interesting secret about how the climax was first written.
The Original Ending Was Different
While in an interview, Murugadoss described that the film was to have ended in a darker note. Malathy, who is portrayed by Rukmini, was to have died in the climax according to the initial plan. He said, “Original climax ends with Malathy (Rukmini)’s death. Raghu didn’t help others when Malathy disappeared from his life. Will he help now when she’s no more? Yes, he will. That was the climax.” (via: 123telugu.com)

Halfway through the shoot, however, Murugadoss changed his mind. He felt that Raghu’s character would lose strength if he failed to save the woman he loved. To ensure that the hero’s value was not lost, the climax was rewritten. That offscreen disclosure stunned fans, who wanted to see how the film would have been different if the original version were maintained.
