Those who are still thinking what that line even means, it’s about Thalapathy Vijay’s latest film overtaking Martin Scorsese, Leonardo DiCaprio’s Killers Of The Flower Moon at the worldwide box office. Immediately after this, another topic started trending, ‘Leo Scam,’ now what’s that?
At first, when you read the numbers, they’ll indeed make you proud of India for beating a film in Hollywood. But things are not hunky and dory in reality.
On one side, Thalapathy Vijay’s fans are celebrating this big victory in Hollywood; there are the ones who are calling this fake and ‘an agenda’ to push a star to number 1 using inorganic methods. So, those still confused about what is happening, listen it out.
Yesterday, data-analyzing website Comscore posted that even though Leonardo DiCaprio‘s Killers Of The Flower Moon is ahead with ($44 Million) with its first-weekend collection, if we consider ‘worldwide cumulative,’ Leo scores better than the Hollywood biggie that it is $48 Million.
As soon as Comscore posted this and Variety reported it, all hell broke loose. Thalapathy Vijay fans couldn’t stop jumping with joy, and those who were against him started to find loopholes in the same. But, the biggest shock came in when renowned box office experts started to post how the Comscore data is exaggerated, fake, and not real.

This sent shockwaves across the film industry, making Thalapathy Vijay fans annoyed and giving a chance to the fans of other stars to do some mudslinging.

This isn’t new in the South Indian Industry, as there have been multiple cases of makers pushing certain movie stars by pumping the box office collections to a degree that it isn’t believable seeing the reviews and transparency of online booking.
In Koimoi’s Leo movie review, we gave it a 1/5, saying, “The story of this Thalapathy Vijay starrer is so stale that even if the film is retitled as ‘Deo,’ it would still stink. But, there are elevation moments, as promised, enriching the theatre experience for those particular scenes. The problem is, what apart from that? Because these high moments are too little even to count, and the rest of the time, you’re like, “Vikram chala do wapas!” (Play me Vikram again!).”
