Chloe Zhao directed Eternals had an ensemble cast, but it failed to impress the fans like other MCU movies. The first part came out in 2021, and it has been almost three years. A social media report has shared a new update on Eternals 2. The first film featured Salma Hayek, Angelina Jolie, Kit Harrington, Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Barry Keoghan and others. It also introduced Harry Styles as Eros, Thanos’s brother.
The MCU introduced the Eternals and explained, despite being such powerful beings, why they did not interfere when Thanos invaded Earth or the other bad things that happened over the centuries. In the 2021 MCU movie, Richard Madden’s character Ikaris had powers like Superman, and by the end of the movie, it seemed like he was dead as the audience saw him flying toward the sun. However, a few days back, rumors claimed that the Game of Thrones actor would return as Ikaris in the alleged sequel, Eternals 2.
Now, according to the Twitter account MCU News and Updates, Eternals 2 is allegedly happening. The Twitter post reads, “Eternals 2 is reportedly in development right now at Marvel Studios. Starring Harry Styles as Eros, Angelina Jolie’s Thena and Gema Chan as Sersi. Richard Madden will also return as Ikaris. The fellow Eternals will perhaps be going on an adventure to fight Celestial Arishem, the Judge, and a Variant of Eros’s brother Thanos.” So does that mean Josh Brolin will return to the MCU as a variant of Thanos for this film?
It continued, “This will be one of the films that releases before or after Avengers Secret Wars.” For the unversed, Avengers: Secret Wars is expected to be released in the theatres in 2027.
Who is Arishem in the Marvel comics?
Arishem, the judge, is one of the two Celestials with the right and ability to judge which planet’s civilization will live and which will die. It made its first appearance in The Eternals #2. Like other Celestials, Arishem is a cosmic being with immense powers, including the ability to transcend time and space, manipulate cosmic energies, create new species, and eradicate life.
Who is Eros?
We saw Harry Styles appear as Eros in the end credit of Eternals. Eros, also known as Starfox, made his first appearance in The Invincible Iron Man #55, created by Jim Starlin. He is the brother of Thanos and is the opposite of how the Mad Titan was. He has the power to physically control other people’s emotions, perform telekinetic stunts, and travel through space and underwater.

One of the users wrote, “I loved the first one, if this is true that makes me happy!”
Another added, “I think it could be better if it embraces the cosmic, and since there are now fewer characters, it could be potentially really great; if she’s into it, I would love for Zhao to return.”
