‘Ant-Man’ Tops North American Box Office Yet Again

Ant-Man, from Disney and Pixar studios, took in another $24.8 million, passing the 100 million mark this weekend. The Paul Rudd-led superhero film was down a sharp 57 percent from last weekend, but it has grossed a solid $106.1 million in ten days.

The critically panned Adam Sandler-led 3D action comedy, Pixel, about the 1980s video games, disappointed with a $24 million weekend, but still managed a second-place finish, according to projections released on Saturday by tracking firm Rentrack.

Analysts said that the $88 million budget movie has a possibility of making benefits from overseas markets where “Pixels” will debut in the following weeks, Xinhua reported.

Meanwhile, Universal’s Minions continued to prove its worth at theatres, ranking the third with a take of $22.1 million.

Rounding out the rest top 10 films of the weekend were “Trainwreck” ($17.3 million), “Southpaw” ($16.5 million), “Paper Towns” ($12.5 million), “Inside Out” ($7.4 million), “Jurassic World” ($6.9 million), “Mr. Holmes” ($2.8 million) and “Terminator Genisys” ($2.4 million).
