Vikram Bhatt’s 1921 Does Not Seem To Have A Good Week At The Box Office

The horror genre has always got an edge over other genres at the box office and has a widespread of viewers. Karan Kundrra & Zareen Khan’s 1921 had been doing well until Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmaavat released. The movie seems to have come to a standstill.

The plot of the film revolved around the character Ayush (Karan Kundrra) who arrives in England to learn music. He is shocked and scared when the mansion he is living in, is haunted by spirits. To exorcise them, he seeks the help of Rose (Zareen Khan), a woman who can see and speak to spirits.

The box office collection of the film stood at 15.57 crores till date and is inching forward in a very slow pace. The film got an added advantage because of its genre and no big releases in its first week. Also in its second week, the film tried to juice out as much as they could have, since there were films like Vodka Diaries, Nirdosh and My Birthday Song. But now, because of Padmaavat’s release, it will be difficult for 1921 and other films to sustain at the box office.

Talking about Vikram Bhatt‘s last, Raaz Reboot made him face losses at the box office and could collect a only a total lifetime collection of 29 crores.

1921 released on January 12 — which was a decade after the release of its predecessor 1920, which became a huge hit.
